The annual Rotary Dragon Boat Challenge returns to the Brayford Pool for its 14th year — teams of ten from across the county paddling 200 metres for a good cause, cheered on from both banks.
Racing starts at 10:00 and runs through the day, with quarter-finals from 14:00 and the grand final around 16:30. Entries are open to any team willing to fundraise — no previous paddling experience needed, boats and helms provided on the day.
Last year's event raised £38,000 for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance and St Andrew's Hospice. This year's beneficiaries will be announced on the Rotary's site. Spectators welcome — food trucks along the waterfront all day.
