The Stamford Georgian Festival transforms the honey-coloured heart of the town for four days each September: costumed parades, open houses, candlelit concerts at St Mary's, and the river Welland lined with stalls.
This year's festival centres on a Georgian food market in Broad Street, a dedicated family trail through the town's courtyards, and an evening programme of recitals at the Arts Centre. The Saturday parade leaves the Meadows at 14:00.
Stamford is 45 minutes from Lincoln by car, or a direct train from Grantham. Parking in town is by Park & Ride from Cummins during the festival. A full programme, ticketed events and accommodation list go live on the festival site in July.
