Tension is Lincoln's dedicated board game shop — a two-floor independent on Steep Hill with a deep catalogue, a knowledgeable team, and a community room upstairs that runs demo nights, tournaments, and a free Saturday beginners' session.
The ground-floor shop stocks everything from gateway family games to heavyweight campaign titles, solo games, miniature painting supplies, and a well-curated children's shelf. The team know the catalogue properly and will happily recommend something for a specific group, age range or play-time bracket.
Upstairs, the community space is open to anyone who buys a drink from the small bar. Regular events include Monday-night Magic, a Tuesday board-game library night, Wednesday miniature-painting sessions, and a rotating Friday tournament programme. Private hire available for birthdays and work events.
